Symptoms

When you switch in game to the any mod, then all your settings are lost, like bings, cvar settings etc. And you see the intro movie for the 154642 time....

Cause

Problem is known and it is a problem within ETQW itself, and not the specific mod only. It should be fixed in ETQW 1.5

Solution

We will disable default profile selection in game, so the changes will be preserved. But there is one inconvenience - you will have to choose profile every time you start a game, so if you use some instant game launchers from some server browser you may be a bit annoyed. Moreover, when you are connecting to a server from one mod to another there is a known issue of window pop up about Authentication Failed but you are actually authed and you can play, so its a bit confusing but not fatal (looks like ETQW bug in general).

Fixing

• Start game in any mod
• Look at the top Menu on right, there is a Change User button

• Press it, game will pop out window with confirmation if you want to really logout - of course press YES'

• Then you will see a menu with profile choice

• Look at the menu options on left,t here is a Set as Default check box
• Deselect the check box, so the cross disappears

• Thats all, from now on any key changes, cvars for each mod should be preserved.
